The first was the tapas restaurant come delicatessen Manero. https://barmanero.es This is a stylish and old school Spanish eaterie with original features from the early 20th century, serving diners and customers their own olive oils, wines, delicious cured meats and cheeses.
We enjoyed ourselves so much the first time we went back – here are some of the highlights:
Pickled partridge with the most delicious heritage tomatoes
For dessert – flan de queso – was like eating a honey-soaked cheesecake without the biscuit base.
Also check out chef Carlos’ cannelloni. I forgot to photograph it, but it was truly ‘estupendo’ as they say in Spain.
There are three restaurants in Alicante and another in Madrid. Highly recommended.
